I have been reading about reincarnation for decades now. It seems that there was a time when each writer had some channeled knowledge of how the whole program worked from levels of development to the specific time between lives. Twenty years, 100 years, seven years. So many questions, so many answers given as though there were some definitive knowledge these writers held. More souls here now than 2,000 years ago? Where did they come from? Parallel lives? Other planets?
Fun stuff to think about, but after conducting many, many regressions and being regressed myself over 26 times, I have decided that I have no answer to any of these questions and in the end, it doesn’t matter much to me. The outcome of remembering a past life is a richer fuller life now, so whether or not I had two lives recalled that overlapped (which I have) or if I came back too quickly according to this author or that author really doesn’t change that outcome.
I do like the theory that my friend and fellow regression therapist, Kathy Dannel Vitcak, introduced to me, however. Kathy described the soul as being 100% energy in spirit form until it decides to incarnate. In the extensive pre-life planning that is the time to decide how much energy a particular life will take to complete. So, for example, if you decide to come back as a member of a peaceful tribe living communally in a tropical paradise, you may not need a lot of energy—maybe only 5%. But lets say you decide to be someone like Michael Jackson. You’ll be a star at an early age, have a difficult father, and surround yourself with people who you can never really trust. Add to that a drug addiction combined with an open creative channel and a lack of common sense and perhaps you’ll need a bit more energy. Maybe 90%. So what if you underestimate how much energy you’ll need to come into this life with? Will you burn out? Maybe.
What if you are enjoying that tropical beach life and decide you have a spare 95% energy reserve tucked away up in heaven. Maybe you will decide to add on a more difficult life as a single parent raising a child with special needs while holding down two jobs. For that, you might want 80%. That only leaves you now with 15% of your energy still taking in energy directly from Source. Lucky for you, though, you have a strong faith and a good meditation practice. Also, you regularly get Reiki treatments and every breath you take is a conscious prayer. Source keeps sending you new energy to help you keep going, to see you through the times when you feel low.
Is this the way reincarnation works? I’ve no idea. It is just the explanation I like best at the moment. Plus, it explains all these extra people on the planet.
