Time Travel

Last week while in Spain, we visited art museums, a palace, churches, narrow winding streets cacophonous with vendors. Street performers were everywhere, the level of talent variable, the passion evident. From watching pilot whales in the Straights of Gibraltar, to stumbling across a heroin addict needle in arm sitting on an ancient wall in Tangier, the images tangle, weave and inspire. Oh Life! There was one moment, though, where I felt my spirit still and find a center in all of this movement, color, story and...

Memory

Memory is tricky. I called my older sister years ago to tell her that I had her music books from grade school. She took piano lessons for four years, but had totally forgotten about it. Twenty-three years ago today my husband Keith and I drove into Park Rapids, Minnesota from our house in Fargo, North Dakota. We stopped first at Shell Lake to drop off the dogs, and then headed into town to the lawyer’s office. Papers were signed, hands shaken, money exchanged. Then back to Shell Lake, to the fishing resort we’d just purchased. It was a blustery day that day. When we stopped to put the dogs into the workshop, we sat in the car and watched shingles blowing off the roofs of a couple of the...

A Little Goes a Long Way

After a long discussion, my client settled in for a past life regression. When she had gone into a deep trance state I asked her what she noticed? Her feet, her shoes? Anyone there with her? She saw only the color blue swirling around her. When this happens, I think of Marjorie Reynolds. Reynolds has been practicing hypnotherapy since 1984. She also specializes in symbolism. A spry woman of advanced years, Marjorie has this delightful way of telling a joke, then laughing with her shoulders. There is no way you can...
