Oracle and Tarot Cards
I thought oracle and tarot cards were all pretty much the same thing with just different pictures on them until I began working with them. Tarot cards are all the same in that there are 78 of them (usually) and 22 of them are Major Arcana cards (usually) and the rest Minor Arcana cards. There are traditional meanings to each card, but as more and more inspired decks go on the market the meanings have expanded and become much more fluid. This is what ultimately lends itself to using our intuition to read the...
Read More“Can it Be Disturbing?”
I’ve had people interested in Past Life Regressions ask me if it is scary before, but when a friend recently asked about it being disturbing, I had to pause a moment to make sure to answer clearly. Dr. John Amoroso, my mentor and teacher at Atlantic University and the A.R.E. (Association for Research and Enlightenment), would usually wait until day three or four of the Integrated Imagery training workshop to take a volunteer though a demonstration of a complete session. The progression of the meditation is to first bless your self, saying or thinking, “May I be filled with loving-kindness. May I be healthy in body and mind. May I be safe from inner and outer dangers. May I be happy and free.” If this feels strange it is because we tend to resist loving ourselves unconditionally. But Kabat-Zinn suggests that holding an image of our infant or a child self makes it easier to...
Read MoreSome Thoughts About the WooWoo Stuff
As I’ve been spending more time with my almost-seven year old granddaughter, I’ve been talking a lot about faeries with her. I’m used to talking to adults about hard-to-believe in stuff like faeries, UFOs, ghosts, spirit guides from a point of view of anything is possible and there is so much we just don’t know. But with this little girl, this little literalist wanting to know if we are playing a game here or what? It get’s more dicey. A voice in my head is insisting on an answer to the question, “Hey...
